Q What is a Skinmania Custom "Skin", how does it replace a cell phone faceplate for cell phones, and what exactly is a cell phone skin?
It is a new, unique product that skinmania has developed that allows you to customize practically any of your personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, cell phones, MP3 players, Camera Phones, PDAs, Portable Game Systems, etc. You can now put any kind of graphic or image onto your own gizmos. Skinmania Skins are high quality, laminated, vinyl skins that cover any of the faces of your device. The Skins will stay on until you want to remove or replace them. The great thing is that you get to completely design them yourself online. A Skin is not cell phone faceplate - it is BETTER! A Skin can be applied on the inside, outside, you name it - even places where a faceplate will never go! Skins are replacing your typical cell phone faceplate as they are much easier to use and replace. No Faceplate? NO PROBLEM! Our Skinmania Skins were designed for the majority of stuff out their that does not have a removable faceplate.
Q What brands of electronic products will Skins work with?
Skins will work with practically any handheld electronic device. See our list of manufacturers and products here, which includes such brands as Apple, Nokia, Ipod, Motorola, Samsung, iRiver. You can design a skin for practically any thing. If you can't find it, just let us know.
Q How can I personalize it?
Any image or design that you would like can be put onto your Skinmania Custom Skin. Photos of you or your friends, or your favorite band, your favourite stuff - whatever YOU want. Even add text and your own favorite slogans. You rule your design. Remember, you completely design it yourself! It becomes your own style and personality!
Q What if I can't find my device?
Let us know! We can still make a Skin for you, we just need to know what you have. Just follow this link describing the type of device, manufacturer and model. We can usually add a new product within 2 weeks of receiving your request.
Q How easy is it to put on / take off?
The Skin can easily be put on or taken off by yourself when you are done with it. Your Skin comes with complete, easy to follow instructions and a kit to help you apply it properly. When you are ready to remove the old one to put on a new one, simple peel it off. Your Skin will come off clean and will not damage your stuff.
Q How does it work?
Our Skins are precisely cut to the shape and pattern of your specific device; it attaches with a light adhesive that allows you to place them over top of all of your personal electronic devices.
Q What parts of my device does a Skin work on?
You can use it on practically any surface, such as front and back. For a flip style cell phone, you can actually have it placed in the inside of the flip side as well. The Skin wraps around the main surfaces and usually covers some of the sides. While we strive for the best coverage as possible, we are limited at times to what we can cover, based on the actual shape of your device. This means that at times, some of the sides will not be covered with a Skin.
Q How many pieces is it?
It can come in one or multiple pieces depending on what you need and what type of device you have. For example, a flip style cell phone can have up to four pieces, where as an MP3 player may just have 2. When you are making your Skin, you can easily decide what surface that you want to have a Skin on. Each piece is considered a "Face" and is how you will see each section online.
Q Can I give them as gifts?
Yes! Just ensure that you know exactly what model of device that they have. You can also ship your new Skin direct to your friends by entering a different Ship to: address. Alternatively, you can also purchase Gift Cards at select locations.
Q Is it reusable?
It is removable but it is not reusable. You can replace it with a new one with a funky new design at any time.
Q Does it affect my own warranty?
Absolutely NOT. A lot of products out there will nullify the warranty on your device as they require disassembly, heating, or whatever. As our Skins are applied over top of your device, it will not affect your warranty at all.
Q What if I can't or don't want to design my own Skin by myself?
Our Skin builder software was created specifically to allow you to design and build your own Skin, as only you know exactly what you want. It is very easy to use; simply select your device model, then select the faces to design, add your images and text, then presto - you are done!
Q Do I have to disassemble my device?
NO! You simply apply your Skin over top of your device. This means that you will not alter your device or affect your warranty. With a traditional cell phone faceplate, you may have to dismantle your phone, meaning that your warranty is no longer valid.
Q How long does it last?
Your Skin will typically last for 6-9 months cell phones, mobile phones, MP3 players, etc. For game consoles, expect your Skin to last for years! When you are ready to take them off, then you simply peel it off. Your Skin will not peel off unless you deliberately attempt to remove it. Our specialized vinyl will not leave a sticky or messy residue.
Q Do I have to put a picture on them?
No! Your own creativity and imagination are your guide. You decide what looks best for you and your tastes. Piece something together from various images, draw something and scan it, put your favorite slogan on it, anything goes! You can use absolutely any image that you want. Think of the new possibilities!
Q What does it come with?
It comes with an instruction card and an installation kit that helps you quickly put it onto your mobile phone, cell phone, ipod, or other mobile device.
Q How long will it take to put it on?
It will take about 2-4 minutes to put it on yourself.
Q Are all of the parts still accessible when it is on? How does my device still work with a Skin on?
Yes, the Skin is specially cut to your device; all functional buttons, screens, holes, etc are fully useable - your device will work, plus it will look way better. In some cases, the Skin will "hug" the display area, giving you more space for your design, but will not cover over the display information.
Q What if I have a flip phone and I only want one piece (the inside piece and doesn't want the outside, vice versa)?
The products typically come in sets. So, for a flip phone, you can order a full Skin set, which would be 4 pieces, or "faces". Of course, you can select each face individually, when you are designing your artwork in our Skin builder.
Q Can I put one Skin on top of the other?
It is best to remove the old one prior to putting on a new one. This ensures that it aligns properly to your device.
Q Is it waterproof? What is it made of?
Your Skin is completely waterproof, as it is made with an extremely durable, outdoor rated vinyl material. It is not paper or a thin film.
Q How fast can I get my Skin?
From the time that you place your order and create it, you should expect to receive it within 5 to 7 days via normal shipping. Please contact us if you have not received it within 10 days, and you have not been notified that it will take longer. We will notify you when your item is shipped, as well as if we experience some delays with your order.
Q Where can I get a Skin for my stuff?
You actually make them online, with our Skin Builder software that was specifically designed for you to create your own designs for your own stuff.

Q How can I tell what model of phone I have?
If it is a cell phone, you can remove the battery and the model number will usually be on the back of the phone, under the battery. You can also preview the template and device database here.
